DIY Monitor Stand for HDMI DSLR output for $52

Hooking up an HDMI output from your DSLR Camera to a full size monitor will let you see with better clarity what your camera is viewing. It's a great way to view playback of the scene you just shot. It's also great for shooting a blog. The camera is pointed at you, you can have the monitor facing you so you can see how the take is going. Monitor Stands are expensive because they have the word 'Monitor' in front of them. A DJ speaker stand on the other hand is much sturdier and cheaper. I've modified my stand to make a Monitor Stand. Parts needed: 1 - DJ Speaker Stand from Amazon (PSTND2) 1 - Flat Panel Swing Arm Mount (use only half) (ML10B from Amazon) .99 Misc hardware: 2 - 4" x 5/16" Eye Bolt w/nut 1 - 1/4" Threaded Rod (about 1' piece) .98 cents 2 - 5/16" Nuts 2 - 5/16" Cut Washers 2 - 5/16" Lock washers 4 - 1/4" Fender Washers 4 - 1/4" Cut washers 5 - 1/4" nuts 5 - 1/4" Starred Lock washers (one bag is .98) Hardware Subtotal Total cost with free shipping on stand and mount
